“I love hair as an art form. Creating allows me to express emotion, tell stories, and celebrate diversity. My style is about crafting beauty that reflects every human being’s individuality.” – William Anselmo

Where are you from, and where are you based?
I’m from Brazil and based in São Paulo, SP.
Tell us about your salons and your connection to Sebastian.
I own two salons — Will Art Salon and Beauty Center School — and I’ve been part of the Sebastian Professional team in Brazil for 19 years.
I’ve trained at some of the world’s leading academies for hairstyling, color, and cutting, always striving to evolve my technical and creative approach.
What was your first big project in the industry?
My first major project was over 20 years ago with Wella Professionals TrendVision, where I was a Brazilian finalist — an unforgettable experience that set the tone for my career.
I love hair as an art form. Creating allows me to express emotion, tell stories, and celebrate diversity. My style is about crafting beauty that reflects every human being’s individuality.
How did you get your start in beauty?
I began my career very early as an assistant, which was the best way to start, learning from the ground up and discovering what beauty truly means. My first experience was with the Jacques Janine salon chain, one of the largest and most respected in Brazil.
What was a defining or challenging moment in your career?
A turning point came when a friend invited me to join a project — neither of us knew exactly what it would become! Without hesitation, I said, “I’m in.” That project turned out to be the first-ever formation of Sebastian Brasil’s Artistic Team.
My scariest moment was teaching my first class. I was terrified of public speaking! But over time, I overcame that fear, and today I’m proud of how much I’ve grown as both an artist and an educator.
What legacy do you want to leave in the industry?
I want to leave a legacy for my children and for professionals — one that shows that with full dedication, passion, and purpose, there’s no way to fail.
What advice would you give to new professionals?
Dedicate your time. Be consistent. Embrace challenges. It won’t be easy, but that’s where growth happens. And here’s the best advice I can give: don’t give up. Persevere with love, focus, and discipline, and success will follow. And most importantly, never stop studying.
