“I draw on a repertoire that ranges from the classicist sculpture of the 18th century to obsession with details of a surrealistic pathologist. “

Patrick Gorra

What country are you from and where do you live?

I was born in Germany and live in Berlin.

Title of what you do and what company you work with?

I am a hair and makeup artist represented by Ballsaal Artist Management.

What is your signature style/artistic expression of your work?

I draw on a repertoire that ranges from the classicist sculpture of the 18th century to obsession with details of a surrealistic pathologist.  Heroism meets an aesthetic morbidity.  I combine these in masks, headpieces and hair sculptures.

What is the first creative project that you remember?

My first creative project after a long break was a cover story for TUSH Magazine where I created the hair masks.

What is the most fulfilling collaboration you’ve worked on?

The collaboration with Ballsaal, a management that represents me is an enrichment to my career as an artist.

What gives you pride in your career?

To get up every morning to do a job that I love every day.

What is next for your career goals?

I don’t pursue any specific goals because I think that it hinders me from looking to the right and left.

What advice would you give to someone starting out in your business?

Listen to your gut instinct and never stop the journey.
