OBAKKI Purpose-Driven Natural Skincare H Project Partners with Holt Renfrew
Rooted in a shared commitment to enact positive global change, Obakki Skincare announces an exclusive retail partnership with Holt Renfrew’s H Project, a continuation of the long-standing partnership between both brands.
Holt Renfrew’s H Project is a department of curated goods to impact the world positively. Since 2013, H Project has selected beautiful products with compelling narratives that support local cultures and communities and have minimal environmental impact. Developed by Obakki, the Vancouver-based, purpose-led lifestyle brand founded by Treana Peake, Obakki Skincare’s collection of ingredient-driven, artisan-made beauty products was a natural fit for H Project.
Formulated with nature’s wisdom in mind, Obakki Skincare uses pure, raw ingredients that are highly concentrated in naturally occurring antioxidants and nutrients to optimize and protect the skin’s function. The collection includes single ingredient Facial Oils, moisturizing Bath Oils, gentle Sugar Scrubs, and luxurious Shea Lotions.
“H Project is thrilled to be the exclusive launch partner for Obakki’s new skincare line. Not only does the collection achieve our Clean Beauty badge for its single-ingredient concentrations, but it also meets our Artisanal criteria. Through their connection to the communities who hand-harvest these ingredients, Obakki empowers female-led cooperatives across Africa. There is intention in every design and production element, and it is also very effective, making this line the definition of luxurious.” says Alexandra Weston, Holt Renfrew’s Vice President of Brand & Creative Strategy.
Every ingredient is meticulously traced to ensure that each formulation is natural and of the highest quality—free of palm oil, artificial fragrance, colourants, parabens, sulphates, or animal products. From liquid gold Balanites Oil to cold-pressed African shea butters, each product will naturally strengthen and nourish the skin.
“We worked closely with African women-led cooperatives to hand-cultivate and wild-harvest ingredients for Obakki Skincare. Many women have been using these natural oils as skin care for generations. At the same time, in other communities, we trained our partners to learn how to harvest and process shea butter from the plants growing around them. In everything we do, we value our partner’s expertise and look to provide income opportunities that have a positive social, economic, and environmental impact,” says Treana Peake, founder of Obakki.
Putting People First
Obakki ensures that the artisans they work with have access to basic needs and the opportunity to grow, thrive and provide for their own communities. Over half of our artisan partners receive support from the foundation through clean water, education, or livelihood initiatives. With over 30 years of proven results and over 4 million people impacted, it truly is the beating heart of Obakki.
Obakki Skincare preserves, promotes, and protects local economies and environments for farmers in Northern Uganda, South Sudan, Ghana, and Tunisia. Every skincare purchase supports the Obakki Foundation, the brand’s philanthropic counterpart, working to provide clean water access, basic needs, and livelihood initiatives in Africa and Mexico.
