What country are you from, and where do you live?

I’m from the UK and live in Newcastle, in the Northeast of England. It’s home—it’s where my creative journey began and where I still feel most grounded.

Education background (art school, photography class, self-taught)?

I’m self-taught in photography. My background in hairdressing gave me a natural eye for shape, texture, and balance, which translated perfectly into photography. Over time, I learned by doing, experimenting, refining, and letting curiosity guide the process.

What is your signature style/artistic expression in your work?

My work is strongly influenced by fashion; it’s polished, atmospheric, and emotive. I love creating images where hair becomes more than just the subject; it becomes part of the storytelling. For me, it’s all about capturing that perfect balance between beauty and emotion.

What type of images or people do you like to shoot?

I love working with creative teams, especially in the world of hair, people who are passionate about pushing ideas and exploring new things. When everyone brings their energy and talent to the shoot, that’s when the magic happens.

Do you prefer digital or film?

Digital, definitely. It gives me the flexibility to fine-tune lighting and tone to perfection. It’s the best way to capture the intricate detail and texture that makes hair photography so unique.

Do you have a career turning point or big break that has helped your career?

The big turning point for me was stepping behind the camera. After years of creating award-winning hair collections, I realized photography allowed me to express myself in a completely new way. It brought together everything I love about beauty, fashion and creativity through storytelling.

Was there a memorable, scary or proud moment in your career?

Seeing my work published internationally for the first time was a huge moment. It was both surreal and deeply rewarding; that feeling of seeing your vision out in the world and knowing it connects with others never gets old.

What is next for your career goals?

I’m continuing to evolve my photographic style and explore new collaborations, both within and beyond the hair industry. As well as having an incredible list of hairdressing clients, I’m now shooting numerous campaigns for colour houses, which brings a new rhythm and way of working, and I love it. The collaboration with new creatives constantly keeps things fresh and inspiring.

Quite often, my work leans heavily into fashion editorial. I love the drama, the mood, and the storytelling that comes with it. It’s an area I see myself exploring more in the future. I’m also passionate about mentoring and helping the next generation of creatives discover the power of photography as a form of storytelling.

What advice would you give to someone starting in your business?

Stay true to your creative voice. Learn the craft, but don’t lose the passion that made you start. Experiment, collaborate, and don’t be afraid to take risks – that’s how you discover your signature style.
