HOB Academy’s Silhouette: Award-Winning Creative Force

The world of British hairdressing continues to evolve at a breathtaking pace, and once again, HOB Academy stands at the centre of that creative momentum. With the unveiling of their striking Silhouette collection and a triumphant win as Artistic Team of the Year 2025, the Camden-based creative powerhouse reaffirms its position as one of the industry’s most influential voices.

A Collection Defined by Form and Future

The Silhouette collection is a bold exploration of geometry and control, an editorial study in how hair design can become sculptural art. Rooted in wearable geometric haircuts, the collection showcases sharp lines, architectural shapes, and tousled yet refined textures, each crafted to accentuate bone structure and create strong, clean silhouettes.

These visual signatures, captured in stark monochrome portraits, reveal haircuts that are both technically masterful and editorially forward: tight crops, structural bobs, modern pixies, and statement shapes that reimagine traditional notions of balance and beauty. Combined with minimalist styling that enhances shape and proportion, Silhouette becomes a cohesive fashion narrative, one where hair and styling work in harmonious tension.

As HOB International Creative Director Akin Konizi explains, the collection “blurs the boundary between hair design and high-concept fashion,” celebrating strength, individuality, and disciplined creative vision.

The Creative Team Behind the Vision

Silhouette comes alive through the collective expertise of the HOB Creative Team:
Akin Konizi, Nestor Sanchez-Gomez, Elijah Hourrides, Jake Unger, Brad Baker, Jake Simmonds and Chloe Buckler are winners of the Artistic Team of the Year title for both 2024 and 2025. The exceptional visuals were crafted with make-up artist John Christopher and photographer Richard Miles, whose collaboration reinforced the collection’s graphic intensity.

“We won this award last year, which was a huge honour, but to win it again this year is amazing. I really believe in this team… I am very proud of them all.” – Akin Konizi
