Golden Globes 2026 Hair: Inside the milk_shake Red Carpet Looks on Jackie Tohn and Alison Brie
Awards season is in full swing, and at the 2026 Golden Globes, effortless elegance took center stage. This year’s red carpet hair moments leaned into polish without rigidity, movement without excess, and finishes that felt modern, wearable, and quietly luxurious. Behind two standout looks were celebrity hairstylists Derek Yuen and Clariss Rubenstein, both turning to milk_shake to deliver refined, camera-ready results.
A Red Carpet Philosophy Rooted in Hair Health
What united both looks was a shared philosophy, hair that moves, reflects light, and feels authentic to the wearer. milk_shake’s performance-driven formulas allowed both stylists to prioritize hair health while delivering finishes worthy of the world’s most-watched red carpet.
In a season where beauty is increasingly defined by intention rather than excess, these Golden Globes moments offered a compelling reminder that when the right products meet expert hands, the result is hair that feels as good as it looks.

Jackie Tohn, Soft Texture with Intentional Volume
For Jackie Tohn, Derek Yuen created a look that balanced structure and ease, proving that red carpet hair does not need to feel overworked to make an impact.
Jackie Tohn’s Hair Look x Derek Yuen
- On freshly washed hair, Derek Yeun applied milk_shake’s Leave In Conditioner to the ends to hydrate and detangle, creating a smooth, manageable base.
- At the roots, he used milk_shake Lifestyling Volumizing Mousse to build body and provide long-lasting volume, distributing both evenly for a consistent finish.
- Once the hair was set and cooled, Derek misted milk_shake Lifestyling Texturizing Spritz throughout, working it in with his fingers to create lived-in texture and a soft, matte finish.
- To finish, Derek worked a small amount of milk_shake Lifestyling Texturizing Cream through the hair to loosen the waves and add natural separation for a touchable, effortless look.

Polished Movement with Natural Flow
For Brie, Clariss Rubenstein delivered a look defined by balance, shine, and fluid movement, polished yet unmistakably modern.
Alison Brie’s Hair Look x Clariss Rubenstein
- On damp hair, Clariss Rubenstein applied milk_shake Blow Dry Primer from roots to ends to create light hold and structure. She then layered milk_shake Incredible Milk for hydration and protection, followed by a small amount of milk_shake Incredible Oil to enhance smoothness and shine.
- After brushing through, the hair was blow-dried using a large round brush to build body and polish.
- To create a soft, lived-in texture, a two-inch barrel curling iron was used, with each section pinned to cool and set. Once released, the hair was gently brushed out with a boar bristle brush to enhance balance, shine, and fluid movement.
- To finish, milk_shake Lifestyling Extra Strong Hairspray was lightly misted around the bangs and crown to lock in volume and refinement, while keeping the lengths and ends natural and free-moving.
