PARIS FASHION WEEK

Chanel 2021 FW RTW

The 40 year old bastion, elite members club of Paris, Chez Castel, was the location and inspiration for the Chanel 2021 Fall Ready-to-Wear show.  Traditionally, a member’s only club, multi-floor venue with it’s two restaurants, rooms, bars and alcoves is a novel experience where Parisian socialites, visiting celebrities and the gilded youth come to play.  Inspired by the zeitgeist nightlife of the 60’s and 70’s and a little Belle Epoque, Creative Director Virginie Viard brought a youthful approach to Chanel classic looks.

The collection featured luxurious tweed jackets mixed with toque hats and snippets of legs wearing giant fur boots.  There was a mix of classic, lady-like with hipster, youthful sporty infused together.  Some looks had a combination of layers in sparkles worn with army green full length coats.  Viard’s love for contrast is also evident in the consistent appearances of skiwear throughout the collection paired with duvet coats.

The show location offered many beautiful freeze frame images which we captured here.  It was filmed and directed by Inez & Vinoodh.
