These time restrictions are specific because they will be shared on Instagram.
CATEGORIES:
HAIR
Artist Expression – avant-garde, painted, can include materials other than hair
Sculpture – updos, braids, built-up styles, architectural, unique shapes, can use hair extensions
Diverse Texture– multi-cultural textured hair, curl, frizz, wave
Buzzed – short hairstyles using razer techniques, can include long and short combo
Editorial Color – editorial and commercial hair color looks
Color Extra – avant-garde, runway, extreme looks
Big Hair – use of texture for maximum size. Must use hair extensions
Bridal – modern bridal styles either wearable or avant garde. Can use hair extensions. Can enter for hair, makeup or both.
Male Style – all variations of men’s and barber styles
NAILS
Nail Art – high fashion editorial or runway looks
Avant Garde Nail Art– no boundaries in shape, avant garde, texture, or use of products

COLLECTION
Submission is under 1-minute video or animation including three different looks as an editorial collection.
Three different looks from one collection. All images must be from the same collection. The model can be the same as long as there are at least three different looks. This is the only category that requires a one-minute-long video/animation.
*NOTE: Entries can be work that has been created within the last year!

- Read and understand the rules and terms and select your category
- Create your “Motion Work of Art” submission following the requirements of the category/s that you are entering
- Fill out the BIM 2023 Entry Release Form (see link below)
- Click on the Film Freeway button at the bottom of this page. You must use laptop or desktop to properly submit!
- Create a submission profile on Film Freeway (there’s a link below for instructions)

RELEASE FORMS
A release form is required for each entry. This form MUST be signed by the entrant, photographer, models, and all other parties involved. Incomplete entries and release forms will be disqualified, and the entry fee will not be refunded. No other release forms will be accepted.
Releases grant Beauty In Motion (BIM) and Beauty Hub Magazine the right and license to use names and images, and to publicly display, distribute, edit, transmit, reproduce, and create derivative works using the images, in whole or in part, in any media or format, as part of the BIM competition or for any Beauty Hub Magazine purpose including publicity and promotion of the BIM and Beauty Hub Magazine.
Beauty Hub Magazine and BIM will include photo credits, including the entrant’s name, with any photo used for publicity or promotional purposes if feasible. Entrants, photographers, models, and all other parties involved in the entries still retain rights to the images submitted.

ENTRY TERMS
- You will receive an email notification when we have received your entry submission and payment online.
- Beauty in Motion Awards (BIM) is an ONLINE competition at this time.
- It is suggested to use mostly close-up looks to see the detail of the submission.
- We only accept high standards of video and photography.
- Entries that don’t meet the category and rules criteria may be disqualified.
- We only contact semi-finalists, finalists, and winners.
- Finalist listings will be featured on Beauty Hub Magazine online.
- Release forms must accompany each submission. Without a release form your entry will be disqualified.
- Beauty Hub Magazine has the right to publish online, on social media, and/ or in print any entries submitted for the Beauty in Motion Awards.
- Entry fees will not be refunded if your work is disqualified. Judging decisions are final.

Photographer Nomination
Category is for photographers’ and videographers’ recognition.
This is a nomination category only. Fill out online form below to nominate your favorite international photographer or videographer.
RULES
- The competition is open to all professional beauty artists globally.
- The person entering must follow @BeautyHubMagazine Instagram and sign up online at www.beautyhubmagazine.com.
- Your details required – name, salon or spa or freelance if applicable, contact address, phone number, email address, and social media handles. Include a bio picture (web size res) of yourself.
- Entry form with full team credit must be given for each entry. Must include a photographer and/or videographer, stylist, makeup artist, nail artist, assistants, and models (if applicable).
- Each entry is only ONE single animated image or video (with the exception of the Collections category).
- You can use images or footage shot from 2021 to the present.
- Any on-set or behind-the-scenes footage can be used but don’t make it about the process – just the finished look.
- Stills can be animated by a computer program or an app to create motion. App suggestions: Dizzi, Instories, Splice, MotionLeap
- Videos must be under 30 seconds long with the exception of the Collection Category which can be under 1 minute long.
- Animation entries must be under 30 seconds long.
- The Collection category will have three models/looks and must be up to 1 minute long.
- We suggest that video entries are shot in landscape/horizontal format for optimal YouTube viewing but you can also shoot vertically.
- Animated image entries can be shot in either landscape or portrait formats.
- If using audio, be sure it is royalty-free. Do not use audio you do not have a license for.
- Collections can be color or black and white except for the Color, Nail, and Makeup Categories.
- You can enter each category only once.
- You can enter several categories using the same collection and/or models as long as the submissions adhere to the criteria for the category entered.
- Photo editing cannot be used to create, enhance, or manipulate styled hair/makeup that was not present in the unedited images. We are still judging the creativity and ability of your skills. Be careful you don’t overdo the animation aspect so that you cannot see the look clearly.
- All work on the hair and makeup should be done with your tools onsite at the photo shoot and NOT in post-production.
- The use of photo editing is only allowed for small refining details like removing fly-away hairs, etc.
- Any perceptible change to the hair in the final images that alters the style and shape of the hair/makeup in the final image is grounds for disqualification. This includes cloning sections of the image or cutting out of hair silhouette.
- By entering your work on Film Freeway, Beauty in Motion awards has the right to use your content online and on our social media.
