What are the Beauty in Motion Awards?
Beauty in Motion Awards is a digital global competition featuring editorial videos from the best in professional beauty. Spring 2026 was our fourth year, and it was exciting to see the huge shift in AI-enhanced work.
As we grow every year, we thank you for your support and enthusiasm for the most innovative digital beauty industry awards that push the limits of creativity.
Take your creativity to the next level and into the future of digital media. This is not your traditional hair competition.
All work must originate from real-life photoshoots. This is not an AI-prompted image.
The entry must be a minimum of 10 seconds up to 1 minute max in length.
There are many categories to choose from, including cuts, colour, style, shape, and texture.
The awards will be judged by some of the world’s top industry artists and beauty pros. Be seen and evaluated by some of the best industry leaders and brands.

Categories 2026
Submissions must be video, AI video, or an animation of a static image that you have created in a real-life photoshoot.
Format can be portrait or landscape for all categories.
Credits are requested in the entry form.
Do not include credits or titles on the screen of your submission.
If you have a still (static) image, the only category you can enter is the Still Image Animation category.
If you are using AI to create a full range of motion video from your still image, you can enter all categories.
The BTS category is for your behind-the-scenes reels. Show us how you created your look or some scenes from on set.
ENSURE THAT YOUR ENTRY RELATES TO THE CATEGORY YOU ARE ENTERING.
ARTIST EXPRESSION: Video of avant-garde, extreme looks which can include materials other than hair. One or more models.
DIVERSE TEXTURE: Video of multi-cultural curl, frizz, waves, afros, include multi-cultural models. No straight hairstyles. One or more models.
EDITORIAL: Video of your editorial, magazine, runway styles. One or more models.
COLOR EXTRA: Video of editorial or avant-garde color techniques. One or more models.
BIG HAIR: Video of big hair styles. The BIGGER the better, using hair extensions. One or more models.
COLLECTION: Video of your collection of three or more models.
NEW* NORTH AMERICAN TEAM: Four or more looks created by a salon team. *Only open to North American entrants.
BTS REEL: Movement with Video Reel: Show us how it’s done! Your behind-the-scenes video reel will show the team in action and the models on set. One or more models.
NEWCOMER EMERGING TALENT: For students currently enrolled in school and new talent up to 4 years in the industry. This category is wide open to your creativity. Movement with Video or Reel or a Still Image Animation of one or more models in editorial, runway, magazine style. Can enter men or women in this category. One or more models.
STILL IMAGE ANIMATION: The only category to use your static editorial images. Make it come alive with creative reel edits using apps. Category is open to one or multiple models in any category from editorial, color, mens, texture or a collection.
COMPETITION RULES
RULES AND CRITERIA
All entries must be based on actual photography or videography. No AI models or completely AI-prompted entries.
Must use actual images you have created, which can then be manipulated with AI and animation.
- You can use images or footage shot within the last year
- All entries must be a minimum 10 seconds up to 1 minute long.
- We only accept high standards of video and photography
- Entries that don’t meet the category and rules criteria may be disqualified
- Judging decisions are final
- Entries can be either portrait or landscape format
- Any on-set or behind-the-scenes footage can be used for the BTS category only
- Entries can be color or black and white except the hair color category must be full color images
- Artists can enter each category only once
- One entry per category
- You can enter several categories using the same collection and/or models as long as the submissions adhere to the criteria for the category entered
- No mannequin heads allowed.
- AI-generated models not allowed. Real models only, which can be enhanced by AI
- Competition is open to all professional beauty artists globally
MUSIC
- Music must be royalty-free. Do not use audio that you do not have a license for, which we won’t be able to share on YouTube or Meta/Facebook/Instagram due to copyright issues
VIDEO FILE ENTRY
- Rename your file to match your entry form. Example 06CL-Tom-Brown
- Files should be an MP4 file
- Choose the correct category button below to download your entry in the Drive
- Make sure you wait until your file is fully uploaded
- You may have to use a desktop if you have trouble uploading by phone

- Release forms not required. By filling out the entry form you agree to usage
- By entering the Beauty in Motion Awards you agree to the usage of images and videos submitted
- Beauty Hub Magazine has the right to publish online, on social media, and/or in print all entries submitted to the competition
