3D-Printed Elegance: Karina Bond’s SS26 Collection Illuminates the Runway
At London Fashion Week, designer Karina Bond unveiled The Midnight Sun, a 21-look collection that blurred the line between dream logic and reality. In an era where AI-generated illusions dominate, Bond offered a strikingly physical response — garments hand-drawn from biodegradable TPU and PLA filaments using 3D pens. The result was a zero-waste wardrobe of sculptural silhouettes that moved like a futuristic second skin, culminating in the dramatic “Desert Rose” gown made of over 5,000 discs. Bond’s couture and ready-to-wear pieces redefined sustainability as something visionary, tactile, and rooted in craft.
Beauty echoed the collection’s futuristic spirit. Led by TONI&GUY International Artistic Director Efi Davies and the Session Team, hair was sculpted into bold 3D silhouettes with squared, top-heavy shapes, accented with stud details that mirrored Bond’s printing techniques. Makeup, by Seoulista Beauty and By Terry, kept skin luminous and minimal, creating a refined canvas that let the garments and hair architecture shine. With The Midnight Sun, Karina Bond and her collaborators delivered not just fashion but a glimpse into a new dawn of design where innovation, sustainability, and artistry converge.
